Abdul Chohan, Business Partner & VP of Operations

Abdul Chohan brings over 30 years of extensive experience and a diverse background in global manufacturing, supply-chain, operational excellence, facilities management and automation. He has spent the last 15 years in biotechnology and medical devices, but has previously worked in the chemicals, semiconductors, and aerospace industries. He has led efforts at Quidel, Danaher, Roche, Werfen and Eastman to launch products (75+), rapidly scale-up production (8X), improve yields (24 to 87%), and reduce COGS (up to 72%). He has implemented off-shoring strategies in Costa Rica, China and Mexico to optimize costs and supply-chain risk management. He is an expert at implementing Operational Excellence and Flex-Labor strategies.

Abdul holds a COO Certificate from MIT, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from UCSD, an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester. He serves as a Board Member on for-profit and non-profit organizations. He has won the Best Manufacturing Innovation Award from the San Diego Business Journal and the Commitment to Excellence Award from the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME).

In his spare time, he enjoys performing stand-up comedy at local Open-Mics and has made it to the semi-finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking.
