Sam Pickerill has spent the last 15 years at the forefront of the in vitro diagnostics industry in a broad range of roles including scientist, engineer, public health researcher, clinical researcher and research and development executive. He has helped pioneer advances in isothermal amplification methods and technologies and the detection of nucleic acids utilizing lateral flow strips. He has built and managed teams and companies in the US, South Africa and China. As the founder, owner and principal of Arete Biosciences he has been involved in the commercialization of over a dozen on-market products.
